February
Nearing the end of Winter
February has been all sorts of grey but Iβve been clinging on to those sunny days and little snippets of spring that have been popping up all over!
Itβs been a speedy but nice month and while I didnβt feel that I was majorly busy.. (Doing my classic thing of being hard on myself when Iβm not being productive 100% of the time) when I look back there are quite a few interesting updates!
A start of February update - my little flower table cards- Winter flower versions! I really love creating these and think they are such a lovely wedding stationery or event piece that have a really personal feel. I hand paint all the backings as well as each flower and they can be made completely bespoke to your colour scheme and flower choices! <3
February also included some photoshoot flowers for a lovely interior designer and my first wedding of the year!! A really colourful and beautiful one! I got to use one of my favourite flowers- hellebores- as well as tulips, ranunculus and anemones.
Allotment update.. so I went full circle.. ordered some wood to make raised beds and then panicked about the costs adding up when I have no idea what Iβm doing and cancelled the wood :β) I have instead now laid down a massive weed membrane. The cardboard did an ok jobβ¦ but because the land is so bumpy, my new plan is to revisit the plot in a week or so- see where its at and level out underneath a bit more! Iβm then thinking to put the sheet back on- cut out some bed shapes and maybe do a half-half of a couple of raised beds and a couple of planting directly! And Iβll still make use of the cardboard in the beds! But this will all probably change by next month so I shall updateβ¦ Iβve also starting planting various seeds in a little portable greenhouse at home, which is exciting!
Feb has also included some lovely painting commissions, wedding stationery, flower pressing as well as freelance work. There has been a lot of planning and calls and creating proposals for future weddings and events this year too!
Annnnd weβre starting to see the tulips and muscari pop up in the garden, as well as blossom and the wild garlic!!!! Any recipes - let me know! Woop woop!
March should (fingers crossed) be bringing something super exciting that I think could really change and have a positive impact to the business - any guesses what it could be!? :D
Thank you so much again for reading- until next month!
Each month I am picking a colour and that will be highlighted in the footer below. This month I was feeling a bright lime green!
