January
A start to the year
As 2024 rolls in, it technically marks the third year for my little business which I began in late summer 2022. Iβm not sure where the time has gone, but it has been the best decision Iβve made and I still canβt believe I went for it. Iβm not a writer, but a newsletter is something Iβve been wanting to do for a while now and I thought it would be a great way to document each month and for me to look back on over time! <3
Anyone that has known me since I was little will know my dream job as a child was to be a florist. Both sets of my grandparents loved their gardens and I like to think that influenced me from a young age. Every time we brought my Grandma flowers in Cornwall, she would ask me to arrange them, and the happiness I felt from her, has always stayed with meβ¦ Then there is Art. Painting was always my thing at both primary school and secondary and if someone had told me at the time, βbe an artist- it will be a great career moveβ I honestly think I would have gone for it. As it happens, everything/everyone around me, (including my logical brain) told me that it wouldnβt be a sensible choice and that I should choose a creative degree that would lead to a career at the end of it. So began my Journey in to Interior Design- (a degree and 5 year career) And I honestly donβt regret it, I had some really great times, met so many amazing people and learnt SO much from it. I still dip my toe in it now and Itβs been great to bring the skills I learnt in to my event floristry and also starting a business really! So that brings me to where I am now, a florist, an artist, a designer, a stylist and just a person who loves to be creative! There is obviously a lot more to the story and with having a business that is so reliant on social media and putting yourself out there- I do find it hard to not feel vulnerable.
So there probably wonβt be masses of spiel from me going forward but I will keep it as visual and as light as possible! Anyway- A little bit about January and what I have been up toβ¦:)
The first week of Jan was a very cold and dark start to the year. Very much contemplating getting a Lumie and would love to know if itβs worth it lol. None the less, it felt productive! I started the foundations for a flower patch at my brothers allotment- as well as planning for our garden. I had meetings, proposals, and paintings to create, a Christmas floral de-rig and in all a bit of a refresh/ tidy.
The middle couple of weeks were also spent painting, planning, writing proposals, talking flowers and illustrating table plans. I bought myself a new planner which has been great and I definitely recommend getting one! Something that visually suits you and that you feel inspired to write in and use everyday!
The end of January was spent in the mountains for a week with my family Skiing. It was a really really lovely break and a good time to get away and spend time with everyone before the busyness ahead!
I have added some picture highlights of the month!
Thank you so much for reading and I will check back in, for the February update!

Each month I am going to pick a colour that I feel really resonated with me in that time and that will be highlighted below. <3 This month I was feeling Peach! :D
